   About Rotaract

   Rotaract is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young men and women ages 18 to 30. Rotaract clubs are usually community-based or university-based and are sponsored by a local Rotary club making them true "partners in service" and key members of the Rotary family.

   Through the Rotaract program, young adults not only augment their knowledge and skills, but they also address the physical and social needs of their communities while promoting international understanding and peace through a framework of friendship and service.

   As one of the most significant and fastest-growing programs of Rotary service, with more than 7,500 Rotaract clubs in some 155 countries, Rotaract has become a worldwide phenomenon.

   Activities Held By Rotaract Clubs

   Rotaract clubs organize a variety of projects and activities, depending on the interests of the club members. However, three main areas of focus include professional development, leadership development, and service projects (both locally and internationally). Together, these areas ensure clubs have a balanced service program while providing opportunities for the personal development. It is important to remember that Rotaract, like Rotary, is diverse, and each club acquires unique qualities, depending where in the world it is established.

   Professional Development

   Professional development activities shall enlarge club members’ professional perimeter and understanding. These activities should enlighten the vision of members where they will have the ability to overcome professional problems they would come across in the future. Every club should offer its members opportunities as listed below;

  •    Professional forums
  •    Information of professional technology updates
  •    Management and Marketing seminars
  •    Conferences about professional ethics
  •    Financing info while starting new business

   Leadership Development

   These activities not only encourage members to be leaders in their daily lives but also teach them how to organize and run Rotaract clubs rock-solid. Main titles can be listed as follows;

  •    To improve speaking in front of people
  •    Various techniques to introduce and promote Rotaract program to members
  •    Maintaining consensus among members
  •    Fundraising techniques to improve clubs financial status
  •    Evaluation of project achievement

   Service Projects

   Rotaract service projects are held to improve life quality at home and outdoors. These projects should point critical social problems like; violence, drug addiction, AIDS, starvation etc. Each club is expected to accomplish at least two comprehensive projects, one in community services and the other in international understanding and peace. Every project should be carried on with the participation of all of the club members.
